Excellent Stay
My friend and I had an excellent stay at this adorable inn in Cusco. The hotel manager was clearly present during our stay, which was a nice touch, as she ensured the operations of the inn went smoothly and we were taken care of. All of the staff were extremely competent and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. The water and tea provided in the reception area was a nice touch. Each of the inn’s rooms is decorated with local artwork and the property fits well given the location. Also, each room has an inspirational quote or saying written on the wall, which gives a very personal touch. The beds are sufficiently comfortable, and the rooms are sufficient while small. There was an electric heater provided, which was very much necessary. Admittedly, the shower head needs to be replaced in the bathroom, as the shower was not very good; however the bathroom was sufficient like the rest of the room. The entire property was very clean and well taken care of. We had a few meals at the inn; the breakfast buffet was very nice and comprehensive, along with dinner which was brought to our room one evening. We had eggs made to order at breakfast, and when we ordered room service one evening for dinner, two members of staff brought the meals to our room with enormous smiles on their faces, which just illuminated the whole experience. One of the receptionists forgot to have our breakfast pre-made and waiting for us one morning, as we had to leave the hotel early for an excursion before the buffet was served, but she was very apologetic upon our return and had left a small gift and handwritten note in our room, which was a very thoughtful touch. I chose to stay at this inn after seeing it on Samantha Brown’s Passport to South America travel show by the Travel Channel. All in all, the staff at this hotel was excellent and took care of all of our needs. I highly recommend this hotel to other travelers looking for a simple inn that will take care of them while in Cusco.
